Community Projects

Southwest Presbyterian Church

Member Sue Strause adapted these designs from Native American pottery of the Mimbres tribe, and the completed needlepoint was finished into cushions for the church. This was a two-year project.

Arts for All Needlepoint Chairs

Chapter members stitched adaptations of three original laser-assisted paintings done by students with limited mobility. The finished needlepoint was mounted onto chairs, which were auctioned for the benefit of Arts for All, a non-profit corporation in Tucson, which provided quality art programs for children with or without disabilities.

NASA Mission Patches

Members of the Tucson and Green Valley Chapters stitched needlepoint patches commemorating NASA space missions. These patches are on display at the John C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.

ANG Seminar

The Tucson Chapter hosted the ANG National Seminar in 2006, and chapter members stitched and donated these boots to the seminar’s very popular auction.

20th Anniversary Exhibition

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of our chapter, members hosted a two-week exhibition of needlepoint showcasing the diversity of our art.
